The FSP Service Manager enables service providers and enterprises to introduce new levels of efficiency in the operation of optical transport networks and to substantially increase customer satisfaction. Seamlessly integrated with and built on top of the FSP Network Manager, the FSP Service Manager provides the capability to quickly and easily manage the end-to-end delivery of business-aligned, high-quality services across networks built using ADVA Optical Networking’s FSP products.
Network operators use the FSP Service Manager to accomplish more of what matters with less effort, expense, training and infrastructure while improving network visibility and availability. Taking into account the many variables involved – different locations, uncertain demands, time restrictions, qualified workers, available network resources – service providers and enterprises need to leverage advanced service provisioning tools to successfully manage their entire processes more effectively. Providing an excellent and efficient customer experience is key to developing customer loyalty in today’s climate. For service providers, a critical part of their strategy must be to enable business processes to control costs, mitigate risk, and efficiently enable change.
The FSP Service Manager administers and displays the network inventory of customer services, allowing quick access to the services not only for display, but also for service creation, modification or termination. In contrast to the hardware-centric operation of networks common today, service-based network management enables a solution that can track, manage and support network access, activity and security with the smallest possible staff. Automated service delivery allows network operators to migrate to service-centric processes in network operations and to close the ever-widening gap between traffic and service revenue growth.
The FSP Service Manager’s Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides a service-provisioning wizard, which allows creation of end-to-end services with only a few mouse clicks and without the need to drill down to the configuration of network elements. By applying service templates for provisioning, the selection of many parameters and configurations becomes redundant. In addition, the FSP Service Manager ensures service setup according to network operator’s standards, which lowers the level of technical expertise required by the staff overseeing the service management function. This can contribute to lower operational expenses.
A key assurance function the FSP Service Manager provides is the monitoring of service performance and availability, which also enables diagnostics and the ability to drill down to individual FSP network elements. This allows the instant resolution of network problems, regardless of location and without costly delays or truck rolls. Whether commissioning, delivering, servicing or troubleshooting, the FSP Service Manager helps the service provider to maintain strong relationships with the customer.
