FSP element manager

The FSP Element Manager is a Local Craft Terminal (LCT) application to activate, provision, and monitor individual network elements of a Fiber Service Platform network. The software provides a cost-effective and flexible solution without the high costs, complication, and systems support for a large network management application.

Service provider and enterprise customers use the FSP Element Manager as a stand-alone tool or as an integral part of the FSP Network Manager or other third party network management applications. The FSP Element Manager is also available as HP OpenView integrated application.

The GUI is an intuitive point-and-click application which is supported by online help and the extensive use of tooltips. It provides access to the modules from the front panel view via pull-down menus for the purpose of configuration and information retrieval.

The functionality comprises inventory, configuration and fault management, and performance monitoring and management. Additionally security management and software download are supported.

The FSP Element Manager is a Java application which can maintain connections with several network elements simultaneously via the SNMP server, managing multiple connected nodes on a node-by-node basis, displaying the status of each component in the node and enabling settings to be performed. The connections to these nodes and processes involving them are monitored in a status window.
